As part of the academic mobility, Professors of the University of Zhilin (Slovak Republic) Marian Yaniga and Martina Haas and the faculty of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology carried out extensive research work in the Zhetysu Mountains.
A joint expedition was organized on 18.09.2024 to the Zhetysu Alatau highlands to study environmental targets of the highlands, so samples were taken for contamination of glacial waters, as well as birds that live in this area were studied during the research. One of the main tasks of our expedition was to study the presence of parasites on the birds’ body. With the help of an ornithological net, the birds were caught to study their body, birds parasites were collected by a special method for further biological study, and the samples of blood was also taken from birds for biochemical analysis.
