Under the auspices of the Natural and Technical Faculty was held a foresight conference on the topic “Safety and Preparedness: Interaction Between Theory and Practice.”
During the event, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Zhetysu university named after I. Zhasugurov Yermek Buribayev and the Head of the Emergency Situations Department of the Zhetysu region, Colonel Nurlan Bekbosynov, signed a memorandum.
The purpose of the conference was to strengthen cooperation, foster interaction between theory and practice in emergency management and safety provision, and facilitate the exchange of experience between academic staff and practical experts.
At the plenary session, reports were presented by: Assistant Professor of the Department of Ecology and Agricultural Sciences, reserve Lieutenant Colonel M. Kulzhatayev; Officer of the Civil Defense Department of the Zhetysu region Emergency Situations Department, Captain E. Nurtkasen; Chief Specialist of the Psychological Service of the Emergency Situations Department, Civil Defense Lieutenant Colonel A. Adambekova; and Engineer of the Emergency Situations Prevention Department, Civil Defense Lieutenant K. Nurgaliuly. Their reports covered topics such as student preparedness for safety measures, flood prevention, and other issues.
As part of the conference was held a master class on the topic “Innovations and Technologies in the Work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.”
Under the guidance of the Head of the Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory, A. Ibraimov, second-year students from the Physics and Mathematics Faculty, D. Svechnikov and R. Mamatayeva, presented the “Scout” reconnaissance and search robot project.
