On February 6, 2024, an academic-practical seminar titled «Step to PhD: Research Activities of a Doctoral Student” was organized by the Educational Program «Teaching and Upbringing Methods” at the Higher School of Pedagogy and Psychology.
Dr. Raigul Zheldibaeva, the head of the Educational Program «Teaching and Upbringing Methods» conducted a foresight session on the topic «PhD: Main Barriers». Kalamkas Yesimkhanova, a third-year doctoral student from Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest), shared her experience of studying abroad in a doctoral program. Asylzhan Yesimbekova, the Deputy Dean for Research at the Higher School of Pedagogy and Psychology, discussed methods of publishing articles in Scopus journals without intermediaries. Additionally, Aigul Akhmetssapa, a third-year doctoral student in the Educational Program «Teaching and Upbringing Methods», shared her experience of modeling within the framework of her dissertation work.
The seminar was attended by Venera Burnasheva, the head of the Educational and Methodological Department for Higher and Postgraduate Education, Indira Nysanbaeva, the chief methodologist, and Bota Amirova, the senior methodologist, who answered questions regarding the organization of research activities for doctoral students and listened to suggestions from the participants.
Notably, the event attracted not only young scholars from Zhetysu University but also doctoral students from Abai and Al-Farabi universities who received answers to their questions and actively participated during the seminar.
