The Department of Creative Education was founded in the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts in 2019. Integration of three departments: Fine Arts and Design, Vocational Training and Technical Disciplines, Music Education ensures graduation of specialists in the major 6B014 Training of teachers with subject specialization of general development.

At the Department of Creative Education, all conditions are created for the harmonious development of various facets of creativity of students in the following educational programs of the bachelor's degree: Fine Arts and drawing, Design, Professional training, Music education, Art work, graphics and design, Decorative arts. The staff of the Department of Creative Education applies innovative educational and information and communication technologies. The improvement the quality of the taught disciplines is associated with their methodic support. In recent years, the faculty staff has published more than 40 educational and methodological publications.

In recent years, international cooperation has been established with universities in Europe and Asia. They are University of Lodz (Lodz, Poland), Palacky University ( Olomouc , Czech Republic ), Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts (Minsk , Belarus ), Pallas University of Applied Sciences (Tartu, Estonia), Omsk University of Design and Technology (Omsk, Russia), Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushinsky (Yaroslavl, Russia).

Based on the concluded contracts, the work is expanded by inviting leading experts, exchanging scientific information in education, organizing internships and business trips for teachers and students.

Academic mobility of the faculty staff and students is one of the priority areas of the department’s works, contributing to the improvement of the quality of education, increase of the efficiency of scientific researches, establishment of external and internal integration relations, and fulfilment the University’s mission.

The department maintains contacts with scientists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia .

In 2015, 2016, 2017 Irina Malakhova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, a titular member of the Academy of Education Humanization of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, delivered a course of lectures on Master’s degree program disciplines “Model of a specialist and qualification characteristics of higher education”, “Integration processes of music education”, “Methodology and methods of scientific and pedagogical researches”.

In 2015, 2016, 2017, within the framework of the state program of development of higher education of the Republic of Belarus for 2011 – 2017, a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Music Education Aida Ussenova was invited to the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. Lectures on the author’s course “Musical style in the artistic space of culture” aroused great interest among students, undergraduates and postgraduates for their novelty, original vision of problems. The Rector of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts expressed gratitude for her highly professional approach, deep knowledge of the matter and provision of valuable scientific and methodic assistance as a lecturer.

From 11.07.2019 to 20.07.2019 A.Ussenova and A.Tynyskhanova at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts conducted training sessions and sociological survey on the topic of the research “Formation of interethnic tolerance of the student’s youth in a multicultural educational environment”.

From 26.10.2020 to 07.11.2020 Kamarsulu Ibrayeva, a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Music Education and Choreography, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University delivered online lectures for students of MP221 “Music Education” on the discipline “Methods of Teaching a Musical Instrument”.

The academic mobility program enables students and undergraduates to continue their education or gain scientific experience abroad in a short-term educational or research program.

In 2015 the 3rd year student of the specialty “Music education” M.Sarkytbek studied at the Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K. Ushinsky (RF).

In 2016, the 3rd year student in the specialty “Music education” V. Shilina studied in the Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K.Ushinsky (RF).

In 2017, the 3rd year student in “Design” specialty, A. Assanova studied in the University of Lodz (Poland).

From March 27 to April 7, 2017, the 2nd year students of the specialty “Music education” had a foreign scientific internship at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts . The purpose of the internship was to get acquainted with the specifics of the educational process in related specialties, scientific advice on the topic of the dissertation, familiarization with natural, historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus.

In 2017 the 2nd year student of the specialty “Music education” A.Tynyskhanova studied in Palacky University (Czech Republic).

In 2018, the 3rd year student of the specialty “Music education” M.Imasheva studied in the Omsk State Pedagogical University (RF).

In 2019 the 3rd year student of the specialty “Design” M.Beisembayeva studied at the University of Lodz (Poland).

The main goal of the Department of Creative Education is to educate versatile and competitive Bachelor degree and Master’s degree students that would possess the qualities of a socially active and politically literate citizen and a patriot striving for liberty and cultural growth.

Task 1: to preserve and cherish the best university traditions aimed at providing a glimpse of prestige of the University and the chosen profession, as well as the prestige of higher education and commitment to professional self-fulfilment.

Task 2: to develop new creative forms and methods of extracurricular educational work adequate to the current trends and needs of students.

Task 3: to study continually the interests, creativity, personal qualities, formation of values, vision of the chosen profession, pro-active attitude of a student/future specialist.

Over the last academic year there were about 20 educational events such as round table on “Promotion of values of the Great Steppe seven faces”, the “Sounds of Zhetysu Ages” concert dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, “Hurry up for good Deeds!” action conducted at PSE “Nadezhda” Day-Care Center for Children with Disabilities” of Administration of Employment and Social Programs Coordination of the Almaty Region. Students of artistic disciplines arranged a charity concert, an art exhibition of paintings and products of decorative and applied arts for children and employees of the center.

The high result of external assessment of the educational programs quality has been confirmed in the national rating of Kazakhstani universities educational programs: in 2016, 5B010600 - Music Education program won the 3^rd place; in 2018, 6M010600 - Music Education program won the 1^st place, 5B010700 - Visual Arts and Technical Drawing program won the 3^rd place.

In 2019, a Senior Teacher Gulnar Ozharova was admitted to the Union of Designers of the Republic of Kazakhstan for advanced achievements in design art.

On October 28, 2019, to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of a Senior Teacher Serikkhan Akkhozhin, the University Rector awarded him the “I. Zhansugurov” medal.

On November 14, 2019 the University Rector awarded “Yeren Enbegi Ushin” badge to a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Aida Ussenova for her personal contribution to science of I.Zhansugurov Zhetysu State University.

On November 25, 2019 a Candidate of Art History Raushan Alsaitova accepted the title of an Associate Professor (Docent) in Art History.

On June 8, 2020 a Member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, a Member of the Union of Designers of Kazakhstan, a Senior Teacher of the department Bakhyt Akhmetov was awarded the “Worker of Kazakh Culture” medal. At the international plein air of professional artists “Tugan zherim – tugyrym” paintings of B.Akhmetov and a student M.Kassymbekova “Kaiyndy kol”, “Kulsai zhagalauy” were accepted as exhibits of the main fund of the Almaty Region Art Gallery.

From 10.08.2020 till 10.12.2020, a Master of Education, a Lecturer Aiym Tynyskhanova, within the framework of a joint project of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, won the “English time” financial grant for free tuition of English for young people from large and low-income families and people with special educational needs.

On November 30, 2020, for occupational qualities and training of specialists in education, culture and art, Zhumatay Taubaldiyeva, Raushan Alsaitova, Serikhan Akkhozhin, Bakhyt Akhmetov became winners of the “The Best Teachers of Independent Kazakhstan – 2020” Republican Contest in the first and second areas.

Students of the department often become prize-winners of the Republican Olympiads in “Vocational training”, “Music Education”, “Fine Arts and Technical Drawing” educational programs, in the international and republican artistic competitions, at international and republican student plein air and art exhibitions, at student art festivals, etc.

In 2015, the 3rd-year student of Fine Arts and Technical Drawing Symbat Sarsenbayeva organized a personal exhibition and became a Member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2019, the 4th-year student of Fine Arts and Technical Drawing Moldir Kassymbekova became a Member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan among the youth and entered the “Leader of the XXI Century” book.

From June 25 to July 1, 2019, students Diana Manlikova, Maxat Karaulov, Moldir Kassymbekova, Farid Kametzhan and Kassen Rasul, under the guidance of a Senior Teacher Bakhyt Akhmetova, participated in the International Summer Studio of the Pallas University of Applied Sciences (Tartu, Estonia) on the “Message on the Wall” topic.

From September 1 to September 30, 2020, the 4th-year students of Music Education Merbolat Zhanbolatov, Akniet Ramazanova, Aida Kussainova and Aigerim Aslanova, under the guidance of a Senior Teacher Serikkhan Akkhozhin, participated in the “Folk Song Performance” nomination and became winners of І-degree diploma for a live performance of Abai Kunanbayev’s song “Kozimnin karasy” on International Online Vocal Contest “Music of Soul”. (Teplice, Czechs Republic).

On October 18, 2020, the 1st-year student of Music Education Aizhan Ussenova in the “Playing a Musical Instrument” nomination and the 2nd-year student Aidana Zharas in the “Singing” nomination, under the guidance of a Senior Teacher Sarbinas Kuntuganova, participated and won the 1^st place in the 2^nd Republican Contest “Abay Readings” (Almaty).

On October 20, 2020, the 2nd-year students of Music Education Aibek Bayadilov and Aruzhan Kairat in the “Singing” nomination and Kurmet Togambayev for the scientific article “The value of using ancient musical instruments in music lessons”, under the guidance of a Senior Teacher Sarbinas Kuntuganova, became the winners and were awarded the I-degree diplomas at the IV Republican Online Contest “Young Talents”, arranged by the International Academy of Pedagogical and Intellectual Children’s Sciences in Taldykorgan.

On November 15, 2020, the 2nd-year student of Music Education Kurmet Togambayev, under the guidance of a Senior Teacher Sarbinas Kuntuganova, in the “Playing a Musical Instrument” nomination performed A.Maldybayev’s composition “Kone Taraz” and became a winner of the 1st-degree diploma at the International Festival-Competition “New Format” (Nur- Sultan).

On November 25, 2020, a 2nd-year student of Music Education Aibek Bayadilov was awarded a 2nd-degree diploma for participation in the “Song Performance” nomination at the Online Contest “Our Unity in Harmony” of I.Zhansugurov Zhetysu University.
