Laboratory of artificial intelligence and virtual reality

    Purpose: Development of student’s skills in the field of information technology, experimental research, organization of collective creative work, creation of websites, preparation of IT projects in the field of digital technologies. Organization of summer and winter IT -laboratories and IT-projects for gifted schoolchildren and students.

Main tasks
  • The use of virtual laboratories in the educational process, which are necessary for teaching students. Creating the necessary conditions for the development of virtual research in educational programs and involving qualified specialists, students and undergraduates in this activity.
  • Together with students, to explore artificial intelligence and virtual reality necessary for modern society and to improve students' skills in these areas.
  • Formation of students' skills in creating and promoting scientific projects.
  • Implementation of tasks taking into account the specifics of the laboratory.
Functions
  • The organization of the main tasks in strict accordance with the legislative and regulatory acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan regulating the activities of organizations of higher and postgraduate education.
  • Ensuring the implementation of the university's strategic directions and achieving key indicators within its competence.
  • Ensuring and monitoring the quality of the laboratory's activities, risk management within its competence.
  • The laboratory's activities are reflected in the laboratory's work plan, compiled for each academic year, and includes training, scientific and practical work.
  • To teach students the basics of programming, web design, computer graphics and 3D modeling, computer design.
  • Organization of training courses for advanced training of specialists who meet the requirements and requirements of enterprises and organizations of the region.
  • Working with gifted students on projects in the field of IT technologies, working with university students. Organization of IT laboratories and IT projects during the summer and winter holidays.
  • Development of various forms of partnership with secondary schools and educational organizations in Taldykorgan and the region.
  • Participation in scientific, practical and methodological conferences and publication of scientific papers.
  • Organization of research work, group activities of students.
  • Presentation of students' research papers at seminars, Olympiads, conferences
  • Analysis and review of theses developed in the field of information technology, artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
  • Encourage students to lead a healthy lifestyle and actively participate in social events. To promote the formation of noble qualities and spiritual values among students.

In 2019, in the competition of innovative ideas and startup projects "Jetisý - Startup", 1st year students of the specialty 6B01503 – Physics Bogdan Ali Serikovich and Beimbetova Medina Birzhanovna under the leadership of Sagadinova Aidana Nurlanovna and Kulyntaeva Assel Yerzhanovna took the 3rd place with the project "Smart-drone".

August, 2020

In August 2020, 2 teams of the faculty of Natural Sciences won grants in the amount of 1,000,000 tenge within the framework of the project for the development of the youth corps "Zhas Project".

Students of the 2nd year in the specialty "Physics", members of the students’ “IT club" Beimbetova Medina, Erentayeva Alina, Aitan Dinar developed the project “SMART ROBO”, the head of which is Meyrambek Adilet Meyrambekuly.

2-year doctoral student of the specialty "Mathematics" Yeseykyzy Aiym and tutor of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Tanabayeva Adema Mergenbaykyzy developed the project "ITEd", which is aimed at improving the digital literacy of teachers of secondary schools.

Bogdan Ali Serikovich won the regional competition of the best STARTUP projects "MENIN BASTAMAM" in the nomination "Best Project".
