Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov announces a competition for admission to postdoctoral studies in the natural science direction
The following individuals are admitted to the Postdoctoral Program:
- having the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan or being a kandas (ethnic kazakh and (or) members of his/her family of Kazakh nationality who were not previously citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who arrived in their historical homeland and received the appropriate status in accordance with the procedure established by the Legislation on migration of the population) or a person of kazakh nationality who is not a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- not older than 40 years;
- having a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree or a doctor’s degree in the profile or an academic degree (Doctor/Candidate of Sciences) obtained no earlier than 2013 or who are a person who has completed the full course of the doctoral program and is preparing to defend a dissertation for a degree;
- actively engaged in scientific and research activities;
- proficient in English (IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System Academic, threshold score – no less than 5.5; TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based test), threshold score – no less than 46; TOEFL PBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Paper-based test), threshold score – no less than 453; TOEFL ITP (Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional Testing Programm), threshold score – no less than 460);
- having publications in international peer-reviewed publications included in the 1st (first), 2nd (second) or 3rd (third) quartiles in the Web of Science database or having a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database of at least 50 over the past 3 years.
In order to participate in the competition, applicants for postdoctoral studies provide the following documents:
- application for admission to the postdoctoral program;
- an application with information about the candidate’s scientific achievements, as well as indicating the full name, position and contact details of at least two reputable specialists who can confirm information about scientific achievements and previous work experience (Appendix A);
- the list of scientific papers published in peer-reviewed scientific publications, and (or) patents and other security documents registered in accordance with the established procedure;
- the plan of the research project on the topic corresponding to the scientific directions implemented at the university (the application of the scientific project for the grant funding competition);
- a copy of the identity card;
- a copy of the diploma of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or a copy of the diploma of the doctor in the profile or the academic degree of the doctor/candidate of sciences;
- certificate of proficiency in English, the certificate does not apply to Bolashak fellows.
Documents are submitted in paper and electronic form.
