Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov congratulates the scientists who received funding as part of the competition for grant funding of scientific and scientific-technical projects for 2024-2026 from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education!
During the competition, four scientific projects were funded under the priority areas of “Life and Health Sciences” and “Intellectual Potential of the Country.” These projects cover key aspects of modern science, including inclusive education, genomic scanning and intensive wheat breeding, climate migration, and the study of turbulent fluid flows.
The research will be conducted in collaboration with leading foreign universities and research centers, such as the John Innes Centre (UK), the National Agricultural Research Centre (Pakistan), and Lund University (Sweden).
It is important to note that Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov will be the first in Kazakhstan to implement the “Speed Breeding” technology and apply it within the research project “Adding values to the Central Asian wheat through the means of whole genome scanning, automated phenotyping and intensive selection” We are proud of the contribution our scientists make to the development of science and technology in Kazakhstan!
Priority Area “Life and Health Sciences”:
1. Kanat Yermekbayev Project: “Adding values to the Central Asian wheat through the means of whole genome scanning, automated phenotyping and intensive selection ” Grant amount: 149,484,042 KZT
Priority Area “Intellectual Potential of the Country” in the field of “Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts”:
2. Gulmira Mailybayeva Project: “Preparation of future teachers of preschool organizations for professional activity in the conditions of inclusive education” Grant amount: 81,120,077 KZT
3. Daniya Nurmukhankyzy Project: ” Climate Migration in Kazakhstan: Understanding Consequences and Improving Adaptation Strategies” Grant amount: 86,985,569 KZT
Priority Area “Intellectual Potential of the Country” in the field of “Natural Sciences”:
4. Sultan Topayev Project: “Experimental Investigation of Elastoviscoplastic Turbulent Flows in a Cylindrical Pipe ” Grant amount: 115,534,000 KZT
Thus, in 2024, the total amount of grant and program-targeted funding of Zhansugurov Zhetysu University exceeded 1.1 billion KZT!
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our talented scientists and wish them continued success and new achievements in their scientific research! We are confident that their discoveries will bring significant benefits to society, strengthen the country’s scientific potential, and open new horizons for the development of science.
