The University also participates annually in the ranking of the best university websites in the world Ranking Web of Universities–Webometrics. According to the results of the Webometrics rating for January 2025, the university ranked 57th place in the ranking among Kazakhstani universities (100 universities in total). Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, also known as Ranking Web of Universities, is considered a ranking system of world universities based on a component metric that takes into account both the size of web content (number of pages and files, number of external citations, such publications) and its visible impact.

Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov participated for the first time in the Times Higher Education World Rankings. Together with 25 Kazakhstani universities, Zhetysu University entered the Times Higher Education ranking with the status of “reporter” (participant). This status indicates that they are active participants in the ranking process. Universities with the reporter status are marked in the list of global universities where they were previously not featured.
Our university participated in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings and achieved positive outcomes. The Impact Rankings evaluate universities’ contributions towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These institutions demonstrate comprehensive excellence, not only within specific areas but also in promoting global sustainable development. By excelling in various SDGs, these universities address critical global issues, including environmental sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth, and international partnerships.
In 2024, 2,152 universities from 125 countries and regions participated in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. According to the ranking results, our university achieved notable positions in the following SDGs:
– SDG 4 (Quality Education): Ranked within the top 5 universities in Kazakhstan and placed globally in the 601–800 range.
– SDG 5 (Gender Equality): Ranked within the top 10 universities in Kazakhstan and placed globally in the 401–600 range.
– SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): Ranked within the top 20 universities in Kazakhstan and placed globally in the 801–1000 range.
