The staff of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov has been assisting the support center for children in need of special social services, “Ainalaiyn,” in Taldykorgan for several years.
During the holiday season, university staff and students visit the orphanage, give gifts, and organize educational games, thereby bringing positive emotions into the lives of the children. In order to provide ongoing support, the students created a volunteer group. Members of the “Rays-ap” group teach the children English for free and help them with their homework.
The university’s charitable initiative, titled “Shyn zhurekten” (From the Heart), celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. In honor of this milestone, the university’s Faculty of Humanities organized a traditional festive event, which was attended by the children and staff of the “Ainalaiyn” center. During the event, the Chairman of the Board and Rector of Zhetysu University, Yermek Buribayev, delivered a welcoming speech and presented letters of gratitude to several employees. In his speech, the rector highly praised the work of the caregivers, who, regardless of their personal time, raise the children with love and care, instilling in them values of kindness and humanity.
Additionally, as part of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the university and the “Ainalaiyn” center to further strengthen their friendly ties.
“Today, about 90 children are raised in the ‘Ainalaiyn’ center. Over the past 10 years, the staff of Zhetysu University has helped more than 9,000 children, providing them with support and care. About 30 graduates of the center, who studied at this university, are now successfully working in various fields. Four current graduates of the center have also chosen Zhetysu University for further education. On behalf of all the children and staff, we express our sincere gratitude for the many years of care and support,” said Gulmira Akhmetova, the director of the “Ainalaiyn” center.
During the event, the students presented sweet cakes and gifts to the children born in March. The atmosphere of joy and celebration filled the day, and the children expressed their gratitude to the elders through songs and dances.
