On the eve of Science Workers’ Day, the XVI Republican Subject Olympiad titled “The Modern Teacher: Intelligence, Inspiration, Mastery” was held at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov.
The academic competition, conducted under the 6B013 – “Training of Non-Specialized Subject Teachers” program, brought together 18 teams from pedagogical universities across Kazakhstan to test their knowledge, skills, and creativity.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Zhetysu University, Yermek Burybaev, delivered a welcoming speech, wishing success to students who had arrived from all corners of the country.
The Olympiad was organized in four stages.
In the first round, “The Image of a Modern Teacher”, teams introduced themselves creatively. The second round, “Strength Lies in Knowledge!”, challenged participants to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge and critical thinking skills through a comprehensive test.
In the third stage, “The Teacher – A Magician of Knowledge”, participants were given a creative task, requiring them to display deep analytical thinking, creative exploration, and innovative approaches.
The final round, “Pedagogical Symphony”, involved the presentation of open-format video lessons, where participants showcased their teaching abilities and professional competence as future educators.
Based on the results, the team “Ustaz Nation” from Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University was awarded the 1st place as the overall winner.
2nd place went to “AbaiStar’s” from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and “Syrwave – Syr Tolqyny” from Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.
3rd place was shared among three teams: “Yessenov Jastary” from Sh. Yessenov Caspian University of Technology and Engineering, “Samruk” from E. Buketov Karaganda University, and “Inside” from Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University.
Other participating teams, who effectively combined their theoretical knowledge with practical application, were recognized in various special categories such as:
“Inspiring Team: Intelligence and Mastery”, “Intellectual Leaders”, “Creators of Pedagogical Miracles”, “Experts of Modern Education”, “Masters of New Knowledge”, “Team of Knowledge and Inspiration”, “Masters of Innovative Approaches”, “Exemplars of Professional Excellence”, “Audience Choice”, “Best Pedagogical Practice”, “Creative Lesson”, “Most Artistic Team”, and “Pedagogical Inspiration”.
The XVI Republican Subject Olympiad aimed to ignite students’ interest in their future profession, uncover their potential, and support talented youth in their journey toward becoming competent educators.
