A solemn ceremony dedicated to the Day of Science Workers was held at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov.
The festive event took place as part of the Decade of Science. Chairman of the Board – Rector Yermek Buribayev congratulated the university staff and scholars on their professional holiday.
“Science workers are the heart and soul of the university. Their discoveries and the outcomes of their work form the foundation of all our achievements. Currently, Zhetysu University employs 13 Doctors of Science, 86 Candidates of Science, and 32 PhD holders. They successfully combine teaching with research, excelling in both fields,” the rector emphasized.
On the eve of the professional holiday, a number of dedicated employees in the fields of science and higher education were awarded commemorative badges from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including “For Contribution to the Development of Science” and “For Contribution to the Development of the Native Language.” They also received Certificates of Honor and Letters of Appreciation from both the Ministry and the Rector.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Akim of Zhetysu Region, Marlen Kulbayev, who extended his congratulations to the scholars contributing to the development of regional science and conveyed the gratitude of the regional leadership.
“Thanks to the direct support of the state, science and education in the regions have been achieving increasingly positive results each year. In this regard, the contribution of Zhetysu University scholars is significant. May our joint efforts for the benefit of the region continue to bear fruit,” said Marlen Kapashuly.
In recognition of their tireless work in science and their contributions to the development of society, the Chairman of the Board – Rector Yermek Buribayev, Director of the Institute of Biotechnology and Ecology Kuat Baymyrzayev, Doctor of Economics, Professor Daniyar Kaldiyarov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professors Sabyrkul Seitova and Khapiza Naubayeva were awarded Letters of Appreciation from the Akimat of Zhetysu Region.
The solemn gathering concluded with a festive concert organized by the university’s performing arts groups.
