Today, Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov hosted a student meeting on the topic “Relevant Methods and Tools for Protection Against Fraudsters.”
The purpose of the event was to raise awareness among young people about new types of fraud, promote a culture of cybersecurity, and enhance financial and legal literacy.
The meeting was attended by Captain of Police Yernat Abdrakhimov, Senior Operative of the Cybercrime Counteraction Department of the Zhetysu Region Police Department; Senior Lieutenant of Police Aidana Bashchikulova, Senior Investigator of the Taldykorgan City Police Department; Alibek Kerimbayev, Head of the Card Business Center at Halyk Bank; and Rinat Salikov, Chief Specialist of the Security Service at Halyk Bank. The speakers shared important and valuable insights.
The session focused on explaining the key methods and modern tools of protection against fraud. Discussions included online financial fraud, fake social media accounts, fraudulent messages, and malicious links. Students were also provided with essential security recommendations. It was emphasized that ensuring information security depends largely on the personal responsibility of each individual.
At the end of the meeting, participants familiarized themselves with the fundamental methods and techniques of protection against fraudsters.
