Zhu scientists took part in the World Congress

Representatives of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov are taking part in the First World Inclusion Congress (WIC 2025), which is being held from October 15 to 17 in Almaty.

The event has brought together more than 1,500 participants from 51 countries — representatives of government bodies, the academic community, international organizations, educators, experts, and leaders in the field of inclusive education. Among the distinguished participants representing Kazakhstan are faculty members of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, who have made a significant contribution to the discussion of current issues related to the development of an inclusive educational environment.

A special source of pride for both the university and the country was the fact that Professor Zulfiya Movkebayeva, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, was entrusted with delivering an individual presentation at such a prestigious international forum. Her presentation was the first among speakers from Kazakhstani universities, opening the session of scientific reports.

Professor Movkebayeva presented the results of a scientific study and the practical outcomes of a program funded by the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the project “BR24993150 — Organization of Psychological and Pedagogical Support for Pre-Professional Training of Students with Disabilities.” Her report, titled “From School to Profession: Pre-Professional Strategies for Children with Disabilities,” drew particular interest and engagement from the participants.

The participation of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov representatives in such a large-scale event not only strengthened the university’s academic reputation on the global stage but also marked an important step in advancing inclusive education in Kazakhstan. The exchange of experience during the sessions and scientific discussions, as well as the establishment of professional connections with colleagues from other countries, opens new horizons for international cooperation and research projects, and creates opportunities for the development and implementation of innovative inclusive practices in education.

The university administration emphasized that participation in the First World Inclusion Congress became possible thanks to the systematic efforts of the university team, their commitment to high educational standards, and their sincere dedication to the principles of accessibility and equality in learning.
