On 5 November 2025, as part of History Week held at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, an educational event titled “Matching the Sayings of Kazakh Intellectuals” was organized. The event was jointly conducted by the faculty members of the Department of History and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines together with students of the “History” educational programme.
The purpose of the event was to promote the life and intellectual legacy of prominent figures of the Kazakh intelligentsia and to instill their moral and philosophical teachings in the minds of young people. Participants were presented with well-known quotations by notable individuals in Kazakh history and were tasked with matching each quotation to its author.
This game-based format sparked considerable interest among the students. Participants recalled the well-known sayings of Abai, Akhmet Baitursynuly, Älihan Bökeykhan, Mirzhakyp Dulatov, Mağzhan Zhumabayev and other influential intellectuals, demonstrating their knowledge and intellectual curiosity. The most active participants received commemorative gifts from the organizers. The event was held in a highly engaging atmosphere and helped students better understand the importance of national identity and historical memory. Such activities enhance young people’s interest in the country’s history and foster appreciation for spiritual and cultural values.
