Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov hosted a competition for grant financing of projects to commercialize the results of non-scientific and scientific–technical activities of young scientists «Jas ǵalym – 2026». A total of 27 applications from six faculties were submitted for participation in the competition. The projects were accepted in the following areas: education; social and humanitarian sciences; natural sciences and technologies; artificial intelligence and neural networks; implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in the economy, industry, and education; and digital technologies in education, economics, and science.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Board – Rector, Doctor of Law, Professor E. Buribayev noted that Zhetysu University actively supports innovative scientific initiatives and wished the young researchers success.
The scientific projects were evaluated by a specially established commission in accordance with the set requirements. The commission included university scholars, experts, and representatives of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development of the Zhetysu Region, as well as the «Atameken» Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
In accordance with the President’s Address, this year the competition places particular emphasis on supporting research in the fields of artificial intelligence and information technology. In the future, the best projects and their authors will be awarded, and their initiatives will receive appropriate funding.
