

Тhe teaching staff of the Department of History and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines of the Faculty of Humanities at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, together with students of the “History” educational program, organized the History Week. This event was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Mirzhakyp Dulatov and was held under the theme “History as a Lesson from the Past, an Example for the Future”.
As part of the History Week, a series of events aimed at promoting national history was organized. The opening of the week took place in an unusual format: faculty members and students entering the university’s main building were offered engaging history-related questions, which they answered with great enthusiasm.
The first event of the week was a subject-based Olympiad among 1st-4th year students of the “History” program.
On the second daу a historical quiz using new technologies and artificial intelligence was held for university students, where participants demonstrated their knowledge of national history. The most active participants received commemorative gifts.
The third event of the week focused on popularizing historical figures and was titled “Match the Saying to Its Author”. Participants had the opportunity to test their knowledge by matching famous quotations of prominent Kazakh intellectuals with their authors.
The fourth event was a discussion in the TED TALK format, where the department’s faculty and students discussed modern trends and current directions in the field of historical studies.
The final event of the History Week was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Mirzhakyp Dulatov. Students of the “History” program presented a theatrical performance depicting episodes from Dulatov’s life and creative path. The results of the Olympiad were also announced, and the winning teams and outstanding participants were awarded. The festive concert concluded the solemn closing ceremony of the History Week.
