Psychological Competence of a Teacher: Essence, Structure, and Development Paths

From November 17 to 22, 2025, a series of academic events were organized at Zhetysus University named after I. Zhansugurov in Taldykorgan as part of the scientific project AR23488199 “Preparing Future Teachers of Preschool Organizations for Professional Activities in the Field of Inclusive Education”.

Sh.O. Oryngalieva, PhD, Head of the Department of Preschool and Primary Education at Alikhan Bokeikhan University (Semey), and B.K. Ospanova, PhD, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology at Shakarim University, held a seminar for faculty members on the topic: “Psychological Competence of a Teacher: Essence, Structure, and Development Paths.”

During the seminar, the importance of psychological competence in a teacher’s professional activity, as well as its main components: emotional stability, communication skills, self-regulation, and reflection, were comprehensively discussed. The participants learned about modern methods for maintaining a teacher’s personal development and emotional well-being, and practiced ways to prevent professional burnout.

In addition, practical exercises were organized to improve the culture of pedagogical communication and apply the principles of positive psychology in the educational process.

The seminar contributed to the development of teachers’ psychological competence and provided new ideas and professional recommendations for the effective organization of the educational process.
