А professional development program for psychologists of educational organizations titled “Psychological, Social, and Pedagogical Aspects of Suicide Prevention in Society”

The Center for Competencies and Complementary Education, in collaboration with the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, has developed a professional development program for psychologists of educational organizations titled “Psychological, Social, and Pedagogical Aspects of Suicide Prevention in Society.” Based on this program, a professional development course was organized and conducted at the Center for Competencies and Continuing Education from October 28 to November 22, 2025. The total volume of the program amounted to 72 academic hours.

The purpose of the program is to enhance the professional competencies of participants through scientific-theoretical and practical training in the psychological and socio-pedagogical aspects of suicidal behavior in society.

During the course, psychologists from general education organizations mastered modern approaches and methods of diagnostics, correction, and individual support for children belonging to risk groups. Special attention was devoted to practical work, supervision-based analysis, and modeling of professional situations.

As a guest lecturer, the course invited psychiatrist and suicidologist of the Regional Mental Health Center, Dr. Mustafa Beibyt Zaparovich, which allowed participants to examine the issue from an interdisciplinary perspective.

The course was delivered by Gulnura Balabekovna Islamzhanova, a teacher-researcher and highly qualified psychologist of our university, and Nazgul Bakytovna Toksanbayeva, lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology and holder of a Master’s degree.

The course was held in a convenient offline format. A total of 15 participants successfully completed the program and received certificates.
