























Today, at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, the student competition of ecological innovation ideas “Green Hackathon – 2026” was successfully concluded within the framework of the nationwide environmental campaign “Taza Kazakhstan”. Traditionally held, the event aims to support forward-thinking youth initiatives focused on environmental protection and sustainable development.
A total of 13 teams took part in the hackathon and presented their projects, including: Green Cycle, EcoBalance, Ecolow, Star, the Zhansugurov College team, Green Hackers, BioWall Team, World Destroyer, Zhasyl Bilim, EcoDesign, EcoBank, Quantum Leap, and ThePlastiCycle.
During the opening ceremony, Bolat Seriyev, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy, emphasized that the future of the country lies in the hands of environmentally conscious and socially responsible young people who care deeply about nature.
The jury panel included:
Erlan Andasbayev, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology, Doctor of Technical Sciences;
Azamat Tauyrbekov, Deputy Head of the Department of Ecology of the Zhetysu Region;
Gulnara Islamzhanova, Psychologist of the Youth Policy and Social Development Department;
Zhambyl Kanagatov, Head of the Department of Ecology and Agricultural Sciences;
Arlan Kereybayev, Software Engineer of the Department of Digitalization and Process Automation.
The proposed projects covered a wide range of areas, including waste sorting and recycling, smart waste bins, environmental monitoring systems, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources, environmental education, and digital solutions.
According to the results of the competition, first place was awarded to the World Destroyer team, second place to Star, and third place to Quantum Leap. The winners and active participants were awarded valuable prizes.
