A republican competition titled “The World of Kozhakeyev” was organized at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the prominent scholar, literary critic, and public figure Temirbek Kozhakeyev. This event, rich in spiritual and educational value, aimed to encourage scientific research among young scholars and creative youth.
The event was held in both online (Zoom) and offline formats and brought together the scholar’s colleagues, his former students currently working at leading universities across the country, and young journalists. The speakers highlighted his strict discipline, high standards as an educator, and his outstanding academic legacy, presenting his multifaceted personality to the younger generation.
The republican-level competition gathered around 40 students from seven higher education institutions nationwide. Participants competed in three categories, thoroughly examining Temirbek Kozhakeyev’s scholarly heritage, journalistic works, and creative perspectives. Through their presentations and research projects, the participants comprehensively demonstrated his contribution to the development of Kazakh journalism and literary criticism.
The final stage of the competition took place on January 30, 2026, and the results were announced at a scientific and practical conference. According to the results, first place in the nomination “Best Scientific Project” was awarded to Madina Madi, a student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. First place in the category “Best Press Material” was awarded to Merey Amangeldi, a student of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The winner of the “Best Video Material” category was Beisenbek Aibek, a third-year student of Zhetysu University.
This event became an important platform for promoting the rich legacy of Temirbek Kozhakeyev among the younger generation and for fostering the development of national science and spirituality.
