A meeting titled “Qauyrsyn Qalam” was held with 10th and 11th grade students at IT School-Lyceum No. 28 located in Taldykorgan. During the event, the dual-degree programs of the Department of Journalism at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov were presented in detail, and valuable, informative guidance was provided to prospective students.
The meeting was jointly organized by the Department of Journalism and the teaching staff of the school and was attended by students of grades 10 and 11. Lecturer and master’s degree holder Ilesken Albatyrovich, along with active young journalists who are currently students and work for various media outlets in the regional center, shared interesting and up-to-date information about Zhetysu University. The specialists paid special attention to issues often unfamiliar to students, such as admission requirements for the “Journalism” and “Public Relations” programs, document submission procedures, and preparation for creative entrance exams, providing clear explanations.
In addition, future applicants became acquainted with the specifics of the journalism profession and gained extensive insight into its role and responsibility in society. During the meeting, students asked many questions of interest and received clear and well-grounded answers from university representatives.
