An auditorium named after Professor Musa Bisenkulov was opened

Today, a ceremonial opening of a classroom named after Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor Musa Bisenkulov, took place at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov. The event was attended by the scholar’s colleagues, students, and family members.

The university’s Rector, Ermek Borybaev, took part in the ceremony and highlighted Musa Kazymuly’s significant contribution to the development of higher education and science, as well as to the advancement of the university. He also expressed his gratitude to the late scholar’s wife and children for their initiative in supporting the opening of a modern, well-equipped classroom.

Musa Kazymuly worked continuously at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov from 1979 until the end of his life (he passed away in 2024). In 1985, he defended his candidate dissertation and served as a senior lecturer, later as an associate professor. From 1986 to 1988, he headed the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature; from 1988 to 1993, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Philology. From 1993 to 2013, he led the Department of Russian Language and Literature. In 1999, he was awarded the title of Academic Professor of the University.

The scholar authored nearly one hundred scientific works and several textbooks. In particular, the textbooks Modern Kazakh Literature, Analysis of Poetic Text, and Analysis of Translated Text are widely used in the educational process. His academic articles have received high recognition from the scholarly community.

During the event, colleagues shared commemorative speeches, and students recited the scholar’s poems. Additionally, at the initiative of his colleagues, it was proposed to hold a traditional scientific and intellectual event titled “Musa Bisenkulov Readings.”

On behalf of the family, the scholar’s wife, Bakyt Makankyzy, expressed her sincere gratitude to the university staff and the rector for their support in opening the classroom named in honor of Professor Musa Kazymuly.
