On February 27, 2026, an online scientific seminar titled «Effective and Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research» was held at Zhetysu University and organized by the Office of Scientific Projects and Technology Commercialization. The event was attended by faculty members, researchers, and students of the university. The total number of participants reached 250 people. For the first time, the live broadcast was simultaneously conducted in 2 academic buildings and 3 assembly halls.
The seminar was delivered by Kairat Moldashev, Associate Professor at SDU University, editor of several scientific journals, and an experienced expert in artificial intelligence and new technologies.
The sminar covered modern approaches to the use of AI at various stages of the research process, from formulating research problems and analyzing literature to preparing publications, taking into account academic integrity requirements, scientific standards, and ethical risks. Special attention was given to increasing researcher productivity, verifying result reliability, working with sources, reducing the risk of «hallucinations», and understanding the impact of AI on the development of research skills using validated prompts on the MethodMate platform. During the discussion, the speaker also spoke about the prospects of artificial intelligence application in research work and relevant methodological issues.
Participants of the event asked questions related to the impact of artificial intelligence tools, the development of products using new technologies, and the search for new directions in scientific research.
