The third stage of the “Startup Zhetysu – 2026” competition of innovative ideas and projects was held on March 17–18, 2026. A total of 61 projects were submitted across six areas. The participants presented their innovative ideas and developments at a high level and professionally defended their projects.
The projects were evaluated by a specially established expert commission. The commission included a representative of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, specialists in the fields of artificial intelligence and digitalization, as well as deputy deans for research from the faculties.
The expert commission conducted a comprehensive assessment of the projects based on a number of key criteria. In particular, the evaluation considered the projects’ innovative nature, novelty and relevance of the ideas, investment attractiveness, commercialization potential, as well as their socio-economic significance for the region.
The projects were presented in the following areas:
- Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence (IT) – 25 projects;
- Sustainable Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex and Agricultural Product Safety – 1 project;
- Rational Use of Water Resources, Flora and Fauna, and Ecology – 13 projects;
- Tourism – 2 projects;
- Biotechnology (BioTech) and Bio-innovations – 2 projects;
- Educational Technologies (EdTech), Online Learning Platforms, and Digital Education Solutions – 18 projects.
This year, the majority of projects focused on Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Water Resources and Ecology, and Digital Education, reflecting a high level of interest from participants.
Each team presented unique and modern concepts capable of giving a new impetus to business and technology development. The projects covered a wide range of sectors, and their content and quality demonstrated the high level of preparation of the young researchers.
The winners of the competition will be awarded at a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Science Workers.
