Seminar on the Topic: “Modern Requirements for Formatting Bibliographic Sources and References in Academic Works”
On March 20, 2025, the faculty members of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts held a seminar on the topic “Modern Requirements for Formatting Bibliographic Sources and References in Academic Works.”
Purpose of the seminar: to examine methods of correctly formatting bibliographic sources used in academic works and bibliographic references to them in accordance with modern requirements; to develop a culture of academic writing among researchers, students, and faculty members; and to improve the quality of academic work.
The Head of the Department of Physical Education and Initial Military Training, PhD E. Bazhenova, explained the role of bibliographic sources and references used in academic works. Lecturer of the same department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences A. Kurakbayeva, presented an analysis of the main principles of formatting bibliographic sources and references. Lecturer G. Galiyeva, Candidate of Medical Sciences, introduced modern standards for formatting bibliographic lists and in-text references.
A third-year student of the Physical Education and Sports program, A. Khlyupina, presented a report on “Issues of соблюдения principles of academic integrity and prevention of plagiarism.”
The Deputy Dean for Research of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts, PhD Z. Shagatayeva, delivered a presentation on “Proper citation of sources in the process of writing scientific articles, theses, and dissertations” and provided comprehensive information on issues related to formatting research work.
