On March 17–18, 2026, the Kazakhstan National Championship in freestyle wrestling among under-23 athletes was held in Taraz.
At this competition, Ukimetuly Myktybek, a student of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts of Zhetisu university named after І. Zhansugurov, demonstrated a high level of performance in the 61 kg weight category and won third place.
