On March 20, 2026, a delegation from the Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov visited Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, located in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, People’s Republic of China. During the visit, negotiations were held with the leadership of the Chinese university, resulting in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation aimed at enhancing collaboration in the fields of education and science. Rector Yermek Buribayev presented the academic and research potential of Zhetysu University and outlined opportunities for the implementation of joint projects. In turn, representatives of the Chinese university expressed their readiness to promote academic mobility, organize joint events, train competitive specialists, and exchange educational and scientific technologies.
The Shaanxi University of Science and Technology is a public multidisciplinary university in the People’s Republic of China, established in 1958. Originally founded as an institute focused on light industry, it has evolved into a modern university offering programs in engineering, materials science, chemistry, and technology. The university places particular emphasis on integrating education, research, and industrial practice.
