An Open Day was held at the branch of Marche Polytechnic University, operating on the basis of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, as part of the Decade of Science. The event brought together representatives of the Zhetysu Regional Department of Education, as well as students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School and the specialized lyceums No. 20 and No. 24 named after M. Aryn. The opening ceremony featured a speech by the Chairman of the Board – Rector, Yermek Buribayev, who highlighted the significance of the activities planned within the framework of the Decade.
“The Decade of Science marks the beginning of new opportunities. It is a platform where education and science converge, giving rise to innovative ideas and forward-looking initiatives. I am confident that the meetings, conferences, competitions, and seminars organized during this week will enhance your scientific potential and inspire you to achieve new milestones,” the Rector noted.
Davide Neri, Director of the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences at Marche Polytechnic University, delivered a video address. As part of the event, an open dialogue platform titled “Studying in Italy: Experience, Opportunities, and Future Prospects” was held.
During the session, Marco Fiorentini, a lecturer in Agronomy at Marche Polytechnic University, presented on “Precision Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence for Supporting Agronomic Decision-Making and Field Operations.” Ilyar Abdukhairov, an expert from the Center for International Cooperation, spoke about studying in Italy the Erasmus+ academic mobility program. Malika Arynova, a third-year Agronomy student at Zhetysu University, shared her academic journey, while Nazym Nursseitova, a third-year student majoring in Two Foreign Languages, discussed her experience of studying in Malaysia academic mobility.
Guests and school students attending the Open Day explored exhibitions of the “Jas Galym” and “Zhetysu Startup” projects. They also visited the Speed Breeding laboratory and the Center of Academic Excellence, gaining deeper insight into the facilities and infrastructure of the Marche Polytechnic University branch.
