Award ceremony for the winners of the startup project competition

On April 9, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov to honor the winners of the “Zhetysu Startup – 2026” innovative ideas competition, organized in celebration of Science Workers’ Day. Diplomas, monetary certificates, and valuable prizes were awarded to the winners by the Chairman of the Board – Rector, Doctor of Law, Professor E. Buribayev. The total prize fund amounted to 1,000,000 tenge.

This year, the competition covered 6 направления, with a total of 61 submitted projects. Based on the evaluation results, winners and laureates were identified across several categories. In particular, 10 projects were recognized in the following nominations: “Best Ecological Startup,” “Best IT Project,” “Best Social Startup,” “Best Agro Project,” “Best Scientific Idea,” “Best Business Idea,” “Best Biotechnological Project,” “Best Creative Project,” and “Best Ethno Project.”

The recipients of third place and monetary certificates of 60,000 tenge were:

Z. Didichina, I. Duisengali (supervisor: A. Ibraimov) — project “EcoBox”;
Zh. Yesengeldi (supervisor: N. Kerimbay) — project “Smart Tamshy.”

The recipients of first place and monetary certificates of 120,000 tenge were:

A. Aydaruly, B. Abdirov (supervisor: A. Elepbergenova) — project “Mobile Application for Learning the Python Language”;

The Grand Prize winners and recipients of monetary certificates of 130,000 tenge were:
D. Seraliyev, B. Serik, D. Akhmetbay (supervisor: K. Shetieva) — project “TravelApp.”

This year, the competition has significantly expanded: the funding volume has increased, and the number of applications and participants has doubled. The winning projects are distinguished by their innovation, scientific relevance, and strong socio-economic impact.
