Information on Reviewing Cases of Academic Integrity Violations by Students of the Faculty of Humanities (dated 20.01.2026)

At the Faculty of Humanities of Zhetysu University, special attention is paid to ensuring students’ compliance with the principles of academic integrity. As a structural unit of the university, the faculty organizes the educational process in accordance with the university’s internal regulatory documents. On the university website, the Faculty of Humanities is presented as a separate faculty, while academic activities are carried out based on the University’s Academic Policy and Academic Integrity Policy.

The review of cases of academic integrity violations by students of the Faculty of Humanities is conducted in accordance with the university’s current internal regulations. Such violations include plagiarism, copying, the use of unauthorized materials during examinations or assessments, appropriation of another person’s work, submission of false data, as well as other cases of performing academic assignments in violation of academic requirements. The basis for reviewing these issues is defined by the University’s Academic Integrity Policy and Academic Policy.

If an academic integrity violation is identified, the instructor, examiner, or responsible person prepares the relevant documentation. This may include a service memo, act, written explanation, anti-plagiarism report, assessment materials, or other supporting evidence. These materials are then submitted to the faculty administration and the university’s authorized bodies for review in accordance with established procedures. During the review process, the student is guaranteed the right to provide an explanation, and the final decision is made depending on the nature and severity of the violation. Such decisions may include a warning, resubmission of work, cancellation of results, reduction of the course grade, or application of disciplinary measures in accordance with internal regulations. The university also has collegial bodies responsible for reviewing academic and ethical issues.

Accordingly, cases of academic integrity violations involving students of the Faculty of Humanities are considered in accordance with the university’s unified academic standards, based on the principles of transparency, fairness, evidence-based decision-making, and accountability.
