THE COURSE “FINANCIAL LITERACY”

A LECTURE WAS GIVEN AT ZHETYSU UNIVERSITY AS PART OF THE COURSE “FINANCIAL LITERACY” FOR THE FACULTY AND STAFF OF THE UNIVERSITY

On September 24, 2024, a lecture on “Financial Literacy” was given at Zhetysu University, named after I. Zhansugurov as part of the “Society without Loans” project, which was organized as part of the roadmap for expanding the educational project of the “AMANAT” party.

A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Head of the Department of Public Administration and Management Nurgul Syzdykbayeva attended the lecture. She recently participated in a seminar organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan and the “AMANAT” party in Astana city from July 15-17. During this event, she received a certificate as a teacher-trainer.

In the lecture on “Financial Literacy”, it was explained how financial issues arise, how to reduce loan debt, how to recognize a financial pyramid, and the actions of different types of scammers.

In addition, the speaker noted that excessive lending to the population has become a serious problem. More than 15% of the economically active population of the country has an insolvent loan for more than 90 days.

Within the framework of the “Society Without Debt” project, an educational platform for financial literacy will be launched  and financial literacy courses will be introduced in all universities, colleges, and schools in Kazakhstan.
