On May 14, 2025, the V Republican Scientific and Practical Conference of Russian Language and Literature Teachers was held at I. Zhansugurov Zhetysu University, dedicated to the memory of Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor M.K. Bisenkulov. The conference theme was “Problems and Prospects of Teaching Russian Language and Literature at the Current Stage of Educational Development.” It was organized by the Department of Russian Language and Literature in collaboration with the Methodological Center of the Zhetysu region. The conference brought together teachers from secondary schools, university and college professors, master’s students, and philology faculty students.
Opening remarks were delivered by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of I. Zhansugurov Zhetysu University, Doctor of Law, Professor Yermek Abiltaevich Buribaev, and the Director of the Zhetysu Regional Methodological Center, Galiya Zholtaevna Mukhmetova.
The following conference presentations generated significant interest:
- “Parameters of a Creative Personality” by Aslan Zhamelievich Zhaksilykov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor at the Department of Translation Theory and Methodology of Al-Farabi KazNU, and member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan.
- “Linguodidactic Vectors of Language Analysis in Secondary School” by Oksana Vyacheslavovna Dorfman, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor at Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University (Russia).
- “Ideological and Thematic Peculiarities of M.K. Bisenkulov’s Poetry” by Talgatbek Duysenbekovich Abzhakov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor at the Pedagogical Institute of the International University of Astana.
- “Translation Problems in Professor M.K. Bisenkulov’s Research” by Bakytzhan Alpamyshevna Auelbekova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at I. Zhansugurov Zhetysu University.
- “Developing Functional Literacy through the Analysis of Typology and Reading Literacy Tasks” by Damira Vazirovna Amarova, Master-Pedagogue, Russian Language and Literature Teacher of Enbekshikazakh District, Almaty Region.
- “Problems of Teaching Russian Language and Literature in Rural Schools” by Nadezhda Yakovlevna Kim, Expert-Pedagogue, Russian Language and Literature Teacher at N. Aldabergenov Secondary School.
In the second half of the day, various interactive sessions were organized:
- Masterclass on “Analysis of Literary Texts” (Moderator – Professor E.V. Li).
- Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence in Teaching Russian Language and Literature and Organizing Student Project Activities” (Moderator – Master-Pedagogue at Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 12, E.R. Filimonova).
- Roundtable discussion on “Academic and Functional Literacy: Balance and Interaction in Modern Education” (Moderator – Pedagogue-Researcher, Methodologist at the Zhetysu Regional Methodological Center, A.A. Torpakova).
At the conclusion of the conference, participants received collections of poetry by M.K. Bisenkulov, titled “Alone with Myself” and “Cradling the Earth in My Palms.”
The conference was held at a high scientific and methodological level.
