Representatives of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov participated in the first World Congress on Inclusive Education — World Inclusion Congress (WIC 2025), held from October 15 to 17 in Almaty.
The event brought together over 1500 participants from 51 countries around the world — representatives of government bodies, the scientific community, international organizations, educators, experts, and leaders in the field of inclusive education. Among the notable representatives of Kazakhstan were the faculty of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, who made a significant contribution to the discussion of current issues in the development of an inclusive environment in education.
The university was particularly proud that Professor Zulfia Akhmetvalievna Movkebayeva, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov delivered an individual report at such a prestigious international platform. The report of the representative of Zhetysu University was the first among those from other Kazakhstani universities, opening the scientific session. Z.A. Movkebayeva presented the results of scientific research and practical experience of implementing program-targeted funding from the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, project IRN «BR24993150 Organization of psychological and pedagogical support for pre-vocational training of students with disabilities». Her report, “From school to profession: pre-profile strategies for children with disabilities”, sparked special interest among the participants.
The participation of representatives of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov in such a large-scale event not only strengthened the scientific authority of the university on the world stage but also became an important step in the development of inclusive education in Kazakhstan. The exchange of experience during section work and scientific discussions, as well as the establishment of professional contacts with colleagues from other countries, opens new horizons for international cooperation and scientific projects and provides opportunities for searching and implementing new ideas for the development of inclusive practices in the education system.
The university administration noted that participation in the First World Congress on Inclusive Education became possible thanks to the systematic work of the team, the pursuit of high standards of education, and sincere involvement in the ideas of accessibility and equality in learning.
