Today, an awareness meeting titled “Drug Addiction – the Plague of the Century” was held within the framework of the “Law and Order” principle, organized by the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov .
The main goal of the event was to prevent drug addiction among young people, promote a healthy lifestyle, and raise awareness of legal responsibility.
During the meeting, Vice-Rector for Social Work and Youth Policy Bolat Seriev addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of legal responsibility and strict compliance with the law.
Experts provided detailed information on the harmful effects of narcotic substances on human health, highlighting their psychological and social consequences, and explained the legal liabilities предусмотренные for drug-related offenses.
In particular, Police Major Dastan Myrzakulov from the Department for Combating Drug-Related Crime of the Zhetysu Regional Police Department, together with operative officer Police Captain Madina Abdusheva, delivered lectures to students on drug addiction and criminal responsibility. The event was accompanied by video materials and real-life case examples.
In addition, students presented a theatrical performance illustrating the devastating consequences of drug addiction, leaving a strong impression on the audience.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Faculty Dean Iliyas Yesengabylov noted that such preventive initiatives play a vital role in shaping a conscious, healthy, and responsible younger generation, and expressed gratitude to the invited guests.
The informational lecture was attended by 60 students of the faculty.
