Business Trip to Almaty
From November 26 to December 10, 2025, a business trip to the city of Almaty was organized within the framework of the research project IRN AP26197965 «Everyday Life of Ethnic Repatriates in Post-Soviet Kazakhstan: Adaptive Strategies and Integration Practices (on the example of the Zhetysu Region)», funded by the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project leader, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor N.K. Baigabatova, senior researchers PhD A.M. Abyzova and PhD M.E. Abdrakhim, as well as junior researcher V.T. Enseeva conducted research and collected materials on the project topic at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies, the A. Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics, and the Al-Farabi Scientific Library. During the trip, the research team identified and collected media materials from the 1990s–2000s related to the adaptation issues of repatriates that were not preserved in digital format. Additionally, published archival documents and official records related to repatriation processes were examined. A historiographical analysis of the scholarly literature was carried out, and dissertations on the topic defended in Kazakhstan were selected and studied. As a result, a comprehensive information database was created, incorporating new publications and valuable scientific data.
