selects and organizes military training of students;
conducts work on educational, patriotic, ideological and informational and image work with students of the military department;
ensures the development and use of modern educational technologies that increase the assimilation of educational material by students;
takes an active part in the work of the university staff in educational and informational and image work;
takes part in events on ideological and image work carried out by the government of the region, city, military units and local military administration of the units;
takes part in military-patriotic events in educational organizations.

Since 2016, 546 students have received military training.

The primary officer military rank "Reserve Lieutenant" was awarded to 502 students.

Since 2021, the recruitment of students in the accounting specialty "Sergeant" has been carried out

The military department takes part in all parades of military units of the garrison dedicated to the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War and the Defender of the Fatherland Day, wreath-laying and garrison events dedicated to the Day of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.
