On February 9, 2022, an evening of poetry dedicated to the birthday of the poet Mukagali Makatayev was held at Zhetysu University named after I.Zhansugurov, organized by students of the 2-3 courses of the OP “Philology” and “Kazakh language and Literature” on the theme “Today is my birthday”. The lecturer S. Kozhagulov emphasized that the purpose of the event is to honor the spirit of the poet, study his heritage, receive spiritual, aesthetic education, reverence poetry, and involve future specialists in cultural and educational events.
During the event, the poet’s poems, songs written on his lyrical works, reflections and comments of students were heard.
The event was attended by Dean of the Higher School of Humanities Tolamisov A., head of the Philology Training Center Kyakhmetova Sh., head of the scientific and practical center “Ilyastan” Imangazinov M., lecturers Syrlybayeva G., Turysbekova A., Chukenaeva G., Rysdauletova B., Tumabaeva M., who shared their impressions about the poetry of Mukagali Makatayev and expressed their sincere gratitude to the students for the evening. .At the end of the evening, students laid flowers at the monument to Mukagali Makatayev in the Zhastar Park, read poems and dedications to the poet.
