This year, for the first time in many years, we celebrate Republic Day.

On July 16, at the National Kurultai held in the heart of the Great Steppe, in Ulytau, the Head of State proposed to return it to the list of national holidays.

Republic Day was first declared a national holiday in October 1995. The date of October 25 was not chosen by chance: it was on this day in 1990 that the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the then Kazakh SSR was adopted by the resolution of the Supreme Council. The document proclaimed the sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR and justified the political and legal foundations of Kazakhstan as an independent state. “Republic Day should become a symbol of the country’s bold step towards statehood,” Kassym—Jomart Кemelevich said at the time.

On behalf of the staff of teachers and students of “Zhansugurov College”, let me cordially congratulate the residents of Almaty region and Zhetysu region on this wonderful holiday. We wish all residents of both regions prosperity, unity, peace and prosperity! We will try to do everything in our power so that the army of qualified personnel of the regions is regularly replenished with competent cadres of young specialists.
