On February 23-24, 2023, on the basis of the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev, Almaty, a seminar was held on the topic “Internationalization of higher education institutions: the international significance of universities”, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Center for the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility. The event was attended by Vice-rectors and university staff responsible for the international activities of the university.
Representatives of universities of Kazakhstan shared their experience in opening branches of foreign universities on the basis of universities of the country, experience in implementing joint educational programs and double degree programs with foreign partner universities, as well as achievements in international rankings.
Representatives of such organizations as the British Council, the US Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the national office of the European Erasmus+ program were invited as speakers. The participants of the seminar were presented with international programs and projects that contribute to increasing the level of internationalization of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The participants of the seminar closely interacted with each other during the implementation of practical tasks, solved topical issues of academic exchange of students and teaching staff, looked for ways out of certain situations that arise in all universities of the country.
According to the results of training, it is planned to hold an introductory seminar at Zhetysu University among the university staff.
