XV Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities

On March 2, the XV Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities was held at Moscow State University under the chairmanship of the President of the Association, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University Academician V.A. Sadovnichy. Representatives of more than 117 universities from 18 countries of the world took part in a work of the congress to discuss ways of cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere in the vast expanses of Greater Eurasia. The Kazakh delegation was headed by Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education K. Yergaliev and Vice-President of the Eurasian Association of Universities E. Sydykov. More than 20 HEI of the Republic of Kazakhstan were participants of  congress, representatives of the Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov were attended by Board member-Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Bakhtaulova A.S. and Director of the Center for International Cooperation and Strategic Development Nurmuhamedkyzy Zh.

The plenary session was attended by more than 32 speakers from different member universities of the association, was adopted a resolution on further actions of the association, were held elections of the governing bodies of the EAU. 25 universities from such republics as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, the Serbian Republic and others were admitted to the association.

Eurasian Association of universities plays an important role as a platform for maintaining a systematic inter-university dialogue, creating conditions for the development of scientific, educational and humanitarian cooperation of Eurasian countries.
