There are currently 4 scientific schools in Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov. A scientific school is a scientific community of scientists of different statuses and competencies, formed on the basis of adherence to the theories and ideas of an authoritative leader in a particular discipline. This is a community that has gained fame for its high level of research in a specific scientific field, its scientific reputation, and the training of highly qualified scientific personnel.
The scientific schools of our university cover different fields of science and are aimed at studying current problems in the field of science and education, for example, the scientific school «Development of scientific methods of training future teachers and systematization of experience and theory of the history of Kazakh education» under the leadership of Ybyraimzhanov Kalibek Turdygazyly is aimed at studying and creating modern theory and methods of training future teachers, as well as on the development of the historical, practical and theoretical foundations of the Kazakh education system.
The scientific school «Ways of formation of national values among younger schoolchildren» under the leadership of Mailybayeva Gulmira Sabyrovna is aimed at the theoretical study of ways of formation of national values among younger schoolchildren, determining the role of the educational process in the formation of personality.
The scientific school «Development and modification of methods of teaching mathematics to schoolchildren and university students in the context of the OECD program concept» under the leadership of Nurgabyl Duysebek Nurgabyluly and Sabyrkul Makashevna Seitova is developing the conceptual content of secondary mathematical education in the context of the OECD program concept, developing methods of teaching mathematics to schoolchildren.
The scientific school «Tagylym» under the leadership of Imangazinov Muratbek Mubyrakhanovich is aimed at studying the creativity and continuation of the school of Ilyas Zhansugurov.
One of the main functions and an indicator of the work of a scientific school is the training of scientists-teachers. So, under the leadership of Ybyraimzhanov Kalibek Turdygazyly, 6 Ph.D. doctors were trained, 2 Ph.D. doctors were trained under the leadership of Mailybayeva Gulmira Sabyrovna, 3 Ph.D. doctors were trained under the leadership of Seitova Sabyrkul Makashevna and Nurgabyl Duysebek Nurgabyluly, 5 Ph.D. doctors were trained under the leadership of Imangazinov Muratbek Mubyrakhanovich.
