Zhetysu University Hosted the International Foresight Conference “Future Horizons: Foresight in Education and Teacher Training”

Within the framework of the Science Decade, Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, located in Taldykorgan, hosted the International Foresight Conference “Future Horizons: Foresight in Education and Teacher Training.” The large-scale academic event was jointly organized by the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, and the Faculty of Humanities.

The conference was opened with a welcoming speech by Aleftina Bakhtaulova, Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Research and Internationalization. The moderator of the conference was Asylzhan Yesimbekova, Deputy Dean for Research of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology.

The conference became an important international platform for discussing current trends in education, the transformation of teacher training, digitalization, inclusive education, the integration of artificial intelligence into the learning process, and new approaches to preparing future teachers. Particular attention was given to foresight approaches in education, anticipating future changes, and identifying effective solutions for the modern educational environment.

The event brought together international and national scholars, representatives of higher and secondary educational institutions, young researchers, master’s students, and doctoral students. Among the honored guests were Kyrgyzbay Dobaev, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor of the Kyrgyz Academy of Education, Maria Bachurka, Director of the Institute of Language Training and Certification at the Kazakh-German University, and Zhazira Sultambekova, Deputy Director for Educational Work of the Zhetysu Social and Humanitarian College.

During the plenary session, participants delivered insightful and timely presentations. Among them were Kholboy Ibraimov, who spoke on the transformation of teacher education in an era of dynamic change and digitalization; Doolotbay Babaev, who addressed the challenges of integrating science education; and Yulia Doncheva, who presented on inclusive education in Bulgaria, its opportunities, and perspectives.

Particular interest was generated by presentations on educational innovation: Assel Toktanova discussed the integration of AI tools into EFL classrooms to develop students’ language reflection; Sheraz Amjad explored rethinking teacher training for AI integration through the lens of psychological readiness; and Zulfiya Abbassova spoke on cultivating creative minds beyond grades within the context of foresight in education.

The conference made a meaningful contribution to the development of academic dialogue, the strengthening of international academic cooperation, and the rethinking of the future of education in a rapidly changing world. It once again confirmed Zhetysu University’s commitment to supporting science, innovation, and the training of a new generation of competitive teaching professionals.
