As part of the XIII Summer Universiade of the Republic of Kazakhstan among higher education institutions, held in the city of Turkistan, students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov achieved outstanding results in boxing competitions:
- Kuraylai Yginbaikyzy — 1st place
- Zhasulan Abdolda — 2nd place
