Russian continues to play an important role in Kazakhstan’s educational and cultural life, connecting generations and strengthening cross-cultural ties. To support this, a large-scale educational project — the Russian Language School for university students of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Learning the Great” — will be held in Taldykorgan at Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov.
This educational event will become the first initiative of the new Center for Open Education in Russian and Russian Language Teaching in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Over four intensive days, participants will gain valuable skills in teaching Russian. Future teachers of Russian will experience a rich program with Russian educators.
The “Learning the Great” School, organized by the My History Foundation (https://t.me/fmi_we) and V.G. Korolenko State Pedagogical University (https://t.me/ggpiglazov) with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia (https://t.me/minprosrf), will take place from September 8 to 11, 2025. It will be an important step in preparing future teachers of Russian language and literature, as well as in the development and promotion of the Russian language in the region.
