Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov hosted a meeting for students of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology on the topic “Current Methods and Tools for Protection Against Fraudsters.”
The aim of the event was to protect young people from new types of fraud, to foster a culture of cybersecurity, and to enhance financial and legal literacy.
The meeting was attended by Aybek Sarkeev, operative officer of the Criminal Police Department of the Taldykorgan City Police, Police Captain; Toktar Zhanymkhanov, investigator of the Investigation Department, Police Senior Lieutenant; Alibek Kerimbayev, Head of the Card Business Center Department at Halyk Bank; and Ainur Ongarova, Senior Manager of the same center.
Participants were introduced to the main methods and modern tools for protecting against fraud. The discussion covered ways to prevent financial scams on the internet, detect fake social media accounts, identify fraudulent messages, and avoid malicious links.
Students were also provided with practical safety measures.
