On November 10, 2025, Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov hosted a scientific-methodological seminar titled “Enhancing Students’ Research Culture through Artificial Intelligence Technologies.”
The main purpose of the seminar was to strengthen the research competence of students and master’s learners, enhance their academic culture, and promote the development of academic writing skills through the integration of modern artificial intelligence tools into the educational process.
The seminar was conducted by Guldana Keliskyzy Turabay, Deputy Dean for Research of the Faculty of Humanities, lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies, and Master of Pedagogical Sciences.
During the seminar, participants were introduced to:
• modern approaches to conducting scientific research;
• the use of AI tools for data analysis, academic writing, and planning research work;
• methods for increasing students’ research engagement;
• principles of academic ethics and standards for working with scientific sources.
Faculty members, students, and master’s learners received practical insights into how AI tools such as Capilot, ResearchRabbit, Scite, Scopus AI Tools and others can streamline research processes, accelerate information processing, and expand access to academic resources.
During the seminar, Asel Kenesbayeva, a 3rd-year student of the “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” educational program and active member of the “KazEngRu” Scientific Student Society, also shared her experience. She spoke about how artificial intelligence assists her in analyzing academic literature, systematizing data, improving academic writing, and structuring her research projects. Asel emphasized that the use of AI significantly enhanced her research capabilities and improved the quality of her scientific work.
The seminar contributed to improving the quality of research activities among students and master’s learners, strengthening their academic culture, and developing skills in working with scientific databases. Participants noted that the seminar gave them strong motivation and valuable practical tools for advancing their research.
The event took place at the Huawei Center and continued the faculty’s systematic efforts to support scientific and innovative initiatives and enhance students’ research potential.
