Тhe Department of Ecology and Agricultural Sciences of the Natural and Technical Faculty of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov held an international seminar titled “Current Directions of Agrarian Research in the Context of Climate and Technological Changes.”
The ceremonial opening was delivered by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, Doctor of Law, Professor Yermek Buribaev. In his speech, he emphasized that strengthening international cooperation in the agrarian sphere is one of the strategic development priorities of the university. He noted that the joint program with the University of Marche will make it possible to train specialists in the agricultural sector in accordance with international standards. Updating the skills and knowledge of agronomists amid climate and technological changes is an important task. “We will continue to pave the way for providing world-class education for our students,” he stated.
The purpose of the international seminar “Current Directions of Agrarian Research in the Context of Climate and Technological Changes” was to discuss new trends in agricultural science considering the impact of global climate change and the digital-technological transformation of agriculture, to introduce modern research methods, and to ensure the exchange of experience among the international scientific community.
During the seminar, such pressing issues as climate-resilient agriculture, global environmental threats, agrotechnological innovations, and the role of artificial intelligence and data analytics in the agricultural sector were addressed. In addition, participants discussed opportunities to strengthen scientific cooperation and launch joint research projects.
