On February 17, 2026, a seminar on “Filing Invention Applications, Legal Protection, and Patent Search” was held at Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov with the participation of representatives from the National Institute of Intellectual Property. The event was organized by the Office of Scientific Projects and Technology Commercialization.
The purpose of the seminar was to provide explanatory work for university staff on preparing and submitting invention applications, their legal protection, and conducting patent searches.
The moderator was the head of the Patent Research and Coordination Department of the Technology and Innovation Support Center of the National Institute of Intellectual Property Shalabaev Uldan. During the speech, she presented information on the activities of the Technology and Innovation Support Center, its capabilities and tools for accompanying applicants.
Presentations were also made by:
Kylyshbaeva Gulzia Bedenovna – chief expert of the Office of Formal Examination of Inventions and Selection Achievements, which highlighted the issues of filing an application for a patent, as well as the legal protection of inventions and utility models;
Alimbekov Shyngys Gendarbekovich is the chief expert of the Office of Patent Expertise in Physics and Mechanical Engineering, who presented a report on the topic of patent search.
The event was attended by university and teaching staff. During the seminar, the participants received detailed answers to current questions and practical recommendations for protecting the results of intellectual activity.
