“Nauryz is a holiday of renewal and unity”

At the Abai Ethno-Village, the staff of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov celebrated the Nauryz holiday with remarkable splendor and festivity. The vibrant event titled “Nauryz – a Celebration of Renewal and Unity” brought together university staff, students, and city residents, transforming the occasion into a meaningful celebration that honored national values and cultural heritage.

During the gathering, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University, Yermek Buribayev, congratulated everyone on the Great Day of the Nation, emphasizing that Nauryz symbolizes the beginning of prosperity and unity. The Mayor of Taldykorgan, Yernat Bazil, and the Chairperson of the Zhetysu Regional Maslikhat, Gulnar Toilybayeva, also extended their शुभwishes, expressing hopes for continued harmony and well-being of the people.

The program featured theatrical performances reflecting the traditions and customs of the Kazakh people. Each performance revived the legacy of ancestors, vividly illustrating the continuity between generations.

In addition, traditional sports competitions were organized at the venue, where young participants demonstrated their strength, agility, and determination. These contests added excitement to the celebration and left a lasting impression on the audience.

As part of the festivities, winners were determined across various nominations and awarded accordingly. The first place in the categories “Best Theatrical Performance” and “Best Decorated Yurt” was awarded to the Faculty of Law and Economics and the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology. Second place went to the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts, while third place was shared by Zhansugurov College and the Faculty of Humanities.

A special competition promoting national attire also identified outstanding participants. Among men, the “Best National Costume” award was won by Aitbay Rakhymbekov, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Associate Professor representing the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. Among women, the title was awarded to Assel Isatayeva, Master of Pedagogical Sciences and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs.

Moreover, in a highly competitive Kazakh wrestling tournament, the title “Barys of Zhetysu University” was claimed by Kydyrbay Elaman. Winners received monetary prizes on behalf of the trade union. This competition further enhanced the festive spirit and elevated the status of national sports.

More than 700 employees and faculty members took part in this meaningful event, which celebrated national identity and strengthened social unity.
