“Olzhas Suleimenov is a linguist by nature, an engineer-geologist by education, and a poet by the grace of God!” (L. Martynov)

On April 21, a performance titled “Az i Ya” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Olzhas Suleimenov was held in the A. Aymbetov Assembly Hall. The event was organized by faculty members and 2nd–3rd year students of the Russian Language and Literature program. The role of chief director, stage director, and scriptwriter was performed by Associate Professor Auelbekova B.A.

During the event, video materials highlighting the life and work of the renowned Kazakh poet, writer, diplomat, and prominent public figure were presented. Excerpts from the poem “Earth, Bow to Man” and poems from different years were performed. Special attention was given to the widely discussed and once banned book “Az i Ya,” which explores written monuments of Slavic and Turkic antiquity.

The event demonstrated that the creative legacy of Olzhas Suleimenov continues to attract the attention not only of Kazakhstani readers but also of the global community.
